Assistant Managing Clerk (NY)

CM Legal

A prominent law firm is seeking an Assistant Managing Clerk for its New York office, a critical operational role within its U.S. Dispute Resolution practice. This is a hands-on position covering state and federal court filings, procedural analysis, docket monitoring, and direct attorney support — the Assistant Managing Clerk acts as a trusted procedural partner, ensuring filings are accurate and timely, deadlines are properly calculated, and litigation calendars are proactively managed across jurisdictions.

Responsibilities include preparing and filing state and federal documents (electronic and hardcopy), reviewing filings for procedural compliance, coordinating with court clerks on complex filing requirements, assisting with attorney court admissions and Certificates of Good Standing, maintaining a database of attorneys’ e-filing credentials, and managing case calendars — including calculating rule-based deadlines and running weekly docket reviews.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of filing/docketing experience in a Managing Clerk’s office or similar litigation support environment, with substantial PACER/ECF experience across federal jurisdictions and familiarity with New York court rules and procedures. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential. The role is hybrid, with an expected hourly range of $50–$58 in New York.
