A leading international law firm is seeking a Head of US Risk & Compliance to be based out of its New York, New Haven, or Greenwich office. Reporting to the London-based International Risk & Compliance Director and working alongside the firm’s Heads of Risk & Compliance in Europe and APAC, this role leads the firm’s US Risk & Compliance team and plays a central part in shaping and implementing the firm’s risk and compliance strategy across its US offices.

The successful candidate will oversee regulatory compliance and professional indemnity matters, US new business intake, conflicts analysis and resolution, engagement governance, and ethical screens. The role involves close coordination with the AML & Sanctions Manager on client due diligence and sanctions controls, partnership with US Claims Counsel on complaints and claims processes, and leadership of risk workstreams for major firm projects such as lateral hires and office openings. The Head of US Risk & Compliance will also deliver training on risk topics, maintain key registers, produce reporting for US leadership and the Partnership Board, and manage and develop the US Risk & Compliance team.

Candidates should hold a JD (or equivalent) with active US bar admission and 6-8+ years of experience in law-firm risk and compliance, ethics, or a closely related field, including people leadership. The salary range for this role is $280,000-$350,000.
