A boutique energy and natural resources law firm is seeking an experienced environmental / natural resources attorney with at least four years of relevant experience for its Environmental, Land Use, Natural Resources, and Real Estate team. The role can be based in Seattle, Houston, Washington, DC, or the Bay Area, and the firm is also open to remote candidates based in the U.S.

The attorney will research and analyze complex regulatory issues under NEPA, the ESA, CWA, and the NHPA; draft pleadings and briefs in federal administrative record litigation; and participate in settlement negotiations with state and federal agencies. The role also involves tracking regulatory and statutory changes, and working with agencies such as the Bureau of Land Management, Army Corps of Engineers, and National Marine Fisheries Service to secure permits for projects including solar and wind facilities, transmission lines, and reservoirs, along with high-profile water supply and energy matters such as Colorado River and California State Water Project issues.

Candidates should hold a JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school and be admitted, or eligible for admission, in their practice jurisdiction. Strong academic credentials, excellent writing and communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously are preferred. The salary range is $180,000 to $205,000.
